Has it really been a month!

I told y'all in the beginning that this blogging thing would be hard if I got behind. Well, as you can tell, I got behind. Alot has happened since I last blogged so I will try and fill everyone in.

Samuel turned one year old on August 18th, 2006! We had a party with some friends and family at the pavilion where we plan to build a house some day! Besides the weather and the smoke from the grill, I think things went off great. Sam's nana and Aunt Dana and cousin Elizabeth came down and spent the weekend with us. Sam really enjoyed playing on Aunt Dana's air mattress. He would laugh and laugh when bounced! Here is a picture of his cake before he got into it...

He also had fun getting into his cake at his birthday party. Mom did not make him his own cake, but he got a piece just for himself. All he seemed interested in was the icing.

He also like walking around seeing everyone and the balloons that mom got him for decorations.

Since his birthday, we have been on the go. Jeff has been out of town several times to exciting places like Washington D.C. As a family we went to Waco to spend time with Aunt Brooke for her birthday. There we also got to play with Sam's cousin, Aiden. Check out Aiden with Grandma.

Mom also got a rare photo opportunity with Samuel. Doesn't he just look like the sweetest little boy!!

We have also had our fair share of illnesses. Samuel had another cold, but this time he ran a fever and had a rash that started on his chest and crept out to his extremities. Looked a little unsightly if you ask mom. Dad ended up with the flu last week when he was supposed to be traveling to Florida for work. He stayed home all week and took it easy. I have never heard of someone having the flu in the summer, but that is what the doctor said. However, we are all better now!

Samuel has started trying to "talk"more. Those of you with little ones knows that this means more noise than actual words. He can tell you that a cow goes "Moo", he has mastered "Uh Oh", "bye bye" sometimes can be heard, "juice", "more" even though we are not entirely sure he knows what it means, "door", "bath", "dog", "duck". Bear in mind that these are not always said when asked. He has just said them to where we understand.
